Maldives Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Bilateral Ties on UAE National Day

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has underscored the deep-rooted friendship and enduring partnership between the Maldives and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), while reaffirming the Maldives' commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
President Muizzu made these remarks as he extended heartfelt greetings to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, on the occasion of the UAE's 54th National Day.
In his letter to President Al Nahyan, President Muizzu conveyed profound admiration for the UAE's remarkable progress under his visionary leadership. He highlighted the transformation of the Emirates into "a beacon of innovation, stability, and constructive global engagement," acknowledging the significant strides made by the nation on the international stage.
Similarly, addressing His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President Muizzu lauded his distinguished leadership, recognising Dubai's emergence as a "leading centre of innovation, economic growth, and cultural collaboration," reflecting the Maldives' appreciation for the UAE's dynamic development.
Emphasising the core of their bilateral relationship, President Muizzu reiterated the Maldives’ unwavering commitment to advancing the "strong and longstanding partnership." He described the ties as being "grounded in mutual respect, shared Islamic values, and a common aspiration for peace and sustainable development," expressing confidence in the continued strengthening of cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
The President concluded by extending personal best wishes for the health and wellbeing of the UAE leaders and the ongoing prosperity of its brotherly people. The President further conveyed his well wishes on his official X account, reflecting on the significance of the occasion for the Emirati nation and expressing optimism about the future advancement of Maldives–UAE relations.
UAE National Day, observed annually on 2 December, commemorates the unification of the emirates in 1971.
