Defense Minister Adam Shareef Umar has said that the external pressures on the maldives has increased over the years, as some had seen criminal procedures as a means of settling political agendas.
Speaking in Islamic Center today, Minister Adam Shareef said that many had taken to protests and afterwards, committed a multitude of crimes. When pressed for justice, the said individuals claim it as a political move, designed to silence any opposition. He added that this has been the case of late for the country, adding that this is intensified by the interference of foreign nations.
Minister Adam Shareef said that inculcating proper values in children was absolutely essential, adding that this has to begin from the schools. He said that children have to be taught that actions have consequences.
He also addressed the rumors on social media that there were divisions within the armed forces. Minister said that there were no such divisions, noting that they were strongly united. He said that he will seek to resolve any issues that are faced by the armed forces.
