Government is planning to press terror charges against Mahloof: Imran

President of Adhaalath Party Sheikh Imran Abdulla says that this administration is plotting to press terror charges against MP Ahmed Mahloof, due to Mahloof’s allegations regarding ‘a ring and a car’.
Imran made the statement addressing last night’s rally in the ‘Maldivians against brutality’ movement.
Imran was referring to allegations made by Mahloof on March 19 that Tourism Minister Ahmed Adeeb gave a $80,000 BMW car and a $100,000gift.
Referring to these allegations by Mahloof, which have been vehemently denied by Adeeb, Imran said taht the government is ‘desperate’ to press terror charges against Mahloof. Imran however questioned which such charge can be leveled against Mahloof.
“Mahloof talking about that car and ring has also become a criminal offence” said Imran.
Even last night, Imran called on more people to join the movement and come out for protests. He said that if not, the government will press terror charges against all Maldivian citizens, one at a time.
Harshly criticizing President Abdulla Yameen, Imran said that, the President does not hear the demands of his citizens. He called upon the masses to use a ‘new formula’ to ensure that their voices are heard. Imran reminded that the President was ushered into power with the joint efforts of Vice President Dr Mohamed Jameel Ahmed, former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom, Leader of Jumhooree Party Gasim Ibrahim and Imran himself.
Verbally attacking Tourism Minister Adeeb, Imran described Adeeb as an ‘immature child’. He said that Adeeb is a ‘child gang leader’ who has been brought to the frontline in the capacity of a ‘Prime Minister’.
